James A. McGowan, B.A.
 
James A. ("Jim") McGowan, B.A., is the publisher of the Harriet Tubman Journal. He is a graduate of Temple University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, and has completed the graduate course in Counseling Psychology, also from Temple. Twice elected to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges," Jim is the author of four books, and has done the photography for Wheelchair Champions, a History of Wheelchair Sports. He worked for 19 years as a Cytotechnologist in the medical laboratories of hospitals and a pharmaceutical company. He has won numerous awards for his work with, and for, the disabled. He was narrator and consultant for the award-winning documentary film, "Whispers of Angels, a Story of the Underground Railroad." He makes his home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
